The Virginia A. Groot Foundation is proud to support the RAIR 2022 Artist in Residency program.
RAIR is a non-profit organization that challenges the perception of waste culture by providing artists a platform to create, studio space to work, and over 450 tons of materials a day. Based in Northeast Philadelphia, RAIR’s Residency Program has opened opportunities for artists from emerging, mid-career, and established levels.
Since 2010, the RAIR Foundation has encouraged a sustainable perspective to artistry as it is located inside a construction and demolition waste recycling facility in Philadelphia. The ingenuity of recycled materials reflects their mission of sustainability and recycled resource sourcing.
This year’s open call residencies were made possible with the support of diverse foundations including the Virginia A. Groot Foundation. The 2022 Residents included:
